Perfext French Chic Outfit
Skirt Set by PERFEXT, Shoes by CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN, Coat by STELLA McCARTNEY
French Chic' style books have been popping up right and left telling us how to walk, talk, date, and dress french chic'. How is one to know what is really chic, if the runways in Paris scream over the top fashion and all of the Parisian French books scream less is more. If less is more than why do designers showcase the craziest designs on the runways? Isn’t this suppose to be the best of the best, their ultimate show and tell of what they think is hot for the season?
Don’t get me wrong honey, you know I love me some Cavalli, and Versace just like any girl! However, if you are trying to be French chic’, there are a few main pillars you can follow.
Keep it Simple
Less is More
Quality not Quantity
Remember there is a difference between, trendy, high fashion, and chic’. Here is how to keep it simple.
Simple lines
Simple design
Simple prints, if any
Nothing too elaborate that will hide the wearer
Less is more tips:
Fewer color
Solid Colors
Less detailing
No logo
No slogan
Don’t fall asleep on me, I swear this can still be a statement piece.I chose this outfit of the day in this photo set to give an example of how to be French chic. My blush colored leather skirt set by Perfext has a simple and lean design, in one solid and neutral color. My coat by Stella McCartney is also a solid, muted grey color keeping the whole color palette understated. Top it off with a nude colored patent leather Christian Louboutin pointy toe heel with my hair pulled away from my face, and you have a complete look. The outfit shows off my silhouette, so that you notice me, not my outfit. Okay, well of course you notice my outfit, but it is not distracting from my cute little face. Just kidding, all this fashion talk was getting way to serious for me.
