DIY Gown NO SEWING
DIY Dress by ANGELA JEAN
A little bit of Angela. This is hands down on of my favorite DIY gowns. I love designing gowns that have an etherial feel to them. I guess being a princess or queen of some sort is every girl's fantasy. I am positive in a past life, I was some type of queen or part of a royal family. When I read about past lives and parallel universes, it describes feelings that I have felt my whole life. This strong pull of a place that you have been but can't see, a weird connection to a feeling that lives inside you. This feeling comes over me at night when I am staring at the sky, or when I travel over seas. Foreign music triggers it sometimes too. This unsettling familiarity this far away place lives deep inside my soul.
I have always been drawn to gowns and heavy jewelry. I call the jewelry my armor. I feel it gives me strength and protection against the outside world. It makes me feel strong. When I go to fancy dinners and wear dainty jewelry, I literally feel naked.
On that note, this is why I love gowns. The bigger the better, if it were up to me I would live in one. I have designed a few gowns on my youtube channel, this being one of them. After I designed this one, I realized I should of used a full strapless body shaper instead of just the bustier. As you can see, I had to still put a basic mini skirt on underneath. If I had done a full flesh colored body shaper, I could of avoided adding anything. I will most likely design another one with a body shaper dress, so that you can see exactly what I mean.
The belt is also one of my favorite ways to design belts, and it comes in handy when you need to add a punch of color to a summer dress, or need to create a waistline to give your dress more shape. You can buy trims and elastic anywhere, and that is all you need to design my belts. Here is a direct link to a quick video tutorial on how to design stretchy accent belts! HERE
